Lazy Sunday? What’s that?

Today’s been one of those days of unfolding chores … yard work (hell), grading, course prep, etc. In the process, I almost forgot to write this poem.

Brag Poem

I know how to get under your skin, what
buttons to push, how to twist your words against
you, where you try to hide your dark side and

how to shine a light on it. And I can read your mind,
too, hear those sneaking thoughts slide like
silk through your subconscious, pull them out

and project them on this screen. Oh, I'll
worm my way inside you before you can say
no, I don't think so, you can't know me

better than I know myself, you can't
be serious, you don't have that kind of
power, we have firewalls and virus protection

and laws we've mangled to keep you down
and superior numbers and wads of cash
and best of all we hold in our hands

the magic wand you want, the legendary
penis you lack, and we're not afraid
to use it against you

but the fact of the matter is that I have
the mighty mighty pen you couldn't keep from me
and the mind to use it against you

Author’s Note: I read this to Dave and he said “I like that! But of course it’s DEI drivel.”
